Won Consolation Award in the 7th Tamilnadu State Level Painting Competition conducted by Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources, Government of India, on November 20, 2016 at Kalakshetra Beseant Arundale School, Adyar, Chennai.
Received Cash Award of Rs.1000/-, Memento and Certificate from the Chief Guest Smt. Priyadarshini Govind, Dancer and Director of Kalakshetra.
This is an annual painting competition conducted by the Ministry of Water Resources, Govt. of India for school children in Standards 6, 7, 8 all over India. The competition has 3 levels. First is the school level competition. The school will select the best 3 paintings and send to the Central Ground Water Board. The board will select the best 50 paintings from all over the state and conduct the state level competition.
The first prize winner of the state level competition will go to Delhi and attend the National Level Competition. The winner will receive Rs. 5000/- cash award at State Level. The 2nd and 3rd Prize Winners will receive cash awards of Rs. 3000/- and Rs. 2000/- respectively. The 10 consolation prize winners at the State level will receive Rs.1000/- each.
This year, in Chennai, there was a plant sapling project associated with the painting competition. All the participants planted saplings at the Kalakshetra Grounds. It was a gala event!!!! 🙂
I am a Bharathanatyam Dance lover too. So it was a great pleasure for me to meet Kalakshetra Director and Dancer Smt. Priyadarshini Govind. Ma’am was the chief guest of the function and she was very kind to accept my request for a photograph with her. Thanks a lot Ma’am !!!
