I have done a speech about ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ in my class as part of the activity in Social Science. Hope it is helpful for others too. This speech uses parts of some other speeches I found searching information about Clean India Campaign.
So here it goes:
Hello friends, I am Meghna Unnikrishnan. Let me now tell you about Swachh Bharat.
The ‘Clean India Mission’, better known as ‘Swachh Bharat‘ campaign has reverberated from the Red Fort to the White House. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a cleanliness campaign run by the Government of India and initiated by the Honourable Prime Minister of India Shri. Narendra Modi on 2 October 2014 at Rajghat, New Delhi.
The father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi had said that, “Sanitation is more important than Independence” during his time before the independence of India. He was well aware of the bad and unclean situation of the India.
Swachh Bharat campaign involves the construction of latrines, promoting sanitation programmes in the rural areas, cleaning streets, roads and developing the infrastructure of our country for Clean and hygenic India.
Cleanliness begins at home. We should first start cleaning up our home as a family, Recycling, separating dry and wet waste, rehabilitating our dumping grounds could be the things we could look forward to. Industrial waste needs to be treated in an environment friendly manner.
The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a welcome step indeed. The habit of cleanliness will make a healthy nation.
We have all heard about the most famous proverb “Cleanliness is Next to Godliness”, for a healthy society we require healthy people.
Hence we can surely say that swachh bharat abhiyan will really bring godliness all over the country in few years if it is followed by the people of India in an effective manner.
