The wedding of Lord Parameshwara and Lalithambika Devi,
Janani Jagath Karani dance drama, Sridevi Nrithyalaya
This was something I’ve wanted to paint for a very long time: a scene from Lord Shiva’s and Devi Parvati’s wedding.
Instead of the usual popular Meenakshi Kalyanam scene, I modelled this painting based on the lyrics from the wedding scene from ‘Janani Jagath Karani’ dance drama by Sridevi Nrithyalaya. Was just casually listening to the evergreen music from JJK one day and I was suddenly inspired to make a painting out of this certain line from the song.
Started this almost a week ago and finished it today.
