Vaiyathu Vaazhveerkaaal! Naamum nam paavaiku
Seyyum kirisaigal keleero paar-k-kadalul
Payya-th-thuyinra parama adi paadi
Ney-unnom paal unnom! Naatkaale neeraadi
Mai-ittu ezhuthom, malar ittu naam mudiyom
Seyyaadana seyyom; thee kuralai senrodhom
Aiyamum pichayyum aanthanayyum kaikaati
Uyyumaaru enni uganthu-el or em paavaai.🎶
“We will sing the praise of the feet of the Lord who is sleeping gently on the serpent in the middle of the wide ocean. We will wake up early and bathe, we will not adorn ourselves with eyeliner (kajal) and flowers, we will not eat Ghee and milk, we will not do inappropriate deeds, will not speak evil and and harmful words, we will do charity and righteous deeds. We will think noble thoughts and work to attain salvation and unification with the Lord!”

Happy Margazhi! Attempted an interpretation of the 2nd pasuram from Sri Andal’s Thiruppavai. This is a continuation of the Thiruppavai painting series I started in 2021 Margazhi. When everyone paints a pasuram for every day of the Margazhi month, here I am, who’ll take probably some 10 years to finish painting all the pasurams, doing 3 per year👵🏻. Anyways, enjoyed doing this work during the free time Michaung cyclone gave me🤡
