Annapurna Devi, a manifestation of Goddess Parvati is known as the  Goddess of Food and Nourishment. 

 

The popular legend of Goddess Annapurna tells of how She served alms to Lord Shiva at Kashi and established the importance of nourishment and food to the world.

 

On this auspicious fourth day of this year’s Navaratri, let us worship the Bāla version of Devi Annapurna, and obtain prosperity and a balance that nurtures both body and soul.
